Patch 2.05 is Out, with Major Issues *UPDATED*

Apparently patch 2.0.5 came out overnight last night or early this morning. A lot of users are getting an "Unable to validate game version" error (pictured above) along with a myriad of other connection problems. The official forums are also down, or so slow as to be effectively down. I'm going to guess that perhaps your game version is fine and this will sort itself out in the next few hours as the patch gets distributed.

Thanks to everyone for submitting this as a topic suggestion, there's too many of you to credit directly.

UPDATE 10:54 from the in-game Breaking News:
"The 2.0.5 client-side patch has caused issues with our authentication system. These issues can cause players to be suddenly disconnected from the game, as well as prevent them from logging in to the game. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and will provide you with updates as soon as they are available."

Ok ... from the WoW forums. People are reporting that you can't download the 2.0.5 patch anymore, and if you haven't applied it, you can get in. But if you have applied it, you'll just have to wait until they fix it.

Upon further reading, some people are reporting that they can login with 2.0.4 just fine, others say that they are getting errors that the version is wrong. So ... G/L getting in.

2.0.4 works fine for me. Never got 2.0.5.

Yeah ... they have removed the requirement to DL 2.0.5, since it blows.

well im about to find out haha. figures the one day i only have to work 8hrs and can play longer the servers would be all jacked to hell.

Well, at last check, if you weren't on this morning, you are fine. As soon as there was a problem, they removed the patch and let you log in with 2.0.4. They say they will release the patch again (once it's fixed) tomorrow.
