There is no technical limit to the number of parsed items on the page. What most often breaks items is having a space between the tags and the item name. The more items there are, the more likely you are to have a mistake. It's a cool setup, but it's not very forgiving. Maybe I'll dive into the code and fix that.

Ya i had some errors in my log in the first oooh 5 tries or so. Then i fixed everything no spaces, then page wouldn't load. Get the azerbanner but then everything else was blanked out. So i did some creative method of editing ie: through profile, to revert it back to full text. Worked fine after that.

The other thing you have to take into account is that when you put a whole bunch of stuff like that, the server is going out and pulling the info for each item the first time it loads. That can take a bit. So ... if you put lots and lots of items, you might just need to be patient. You also might want to try and do it at a time when allakhazam isn't busy, as that will slow things down as well.

My overall suggestion is to only link maybe 20 or so items and then preview the page. That will load the items into the cache, and let you verify that it works. Then you can move on and load up the next 20. As you discovered, you can get in to edit previous posts through your profile because it only gives you a small sample of each post.
