Blizz just drop dead.

Tried logging in today and at first it goes really slow so I think its my internet. After a minute or two I get to a screen that says; "Unable to validate game version this may be caused by file corruption.... So I'm thinking to myself well thats not good. I get on the forums and they are so slow. All it said to do was run the repair program. Ok I did that, nothing wrong and now my screen went back to crappy 800x600. Back to the forums, its apparently an issue caused by their latest attempt at salvaging their UI which they f'd up by not freaking testing the shit they shove down our throats.

Great another patch that I get to download after Blizz readies a hot fix so I can log in. Blizz just drop dead and actually follow your testing procedures regarding patches. If BC is this pathetic I'm not gonna bother.

Well I wouldn't bother with BC then because when the entire server tries to login at the same time good things can't happen. Things like this happen. For the most part, I get to play the game when I want to. For times that I can't, blizz occasionally gives me day credits to my account. This is something I have never recieved in the past by companies such as SOE when I played their games. I'm not a blizz fanboi, but things like this occur when you play MMO's. You either learn to deal with it or play a different genre of games.

*edit* I can't login either, but I'm sure the issue will get resolved

So, I just downloaded and am patching my 2nd machine for nothing? 1st machine is out of commission with hard drive issues.

And yeah ... I'm with Edis. Sometimes stuff happens. If you think about the astronomical variety of hardware/software/patches that exist in the PC world, I am always amazed at how smoothly things operate. In the Mac world, things are so much easier because they control the hardware too. And still their machines crash and have weird issues. Software isn't perfect, and it never will be.

And BTW, I want to know your location for the GPS tracking device. But I'll have to hurry, since you don't live far from home :) And I bet you're not far from my aunt and uncle.

Apparently Lyese, you're not the only one. See my post in the public general forum.

I'm still patching this machine up from 2.0.1, so I'll let you know what happens to my patching process.

Eh, I know this stuff happens with MMO's I'm just complaining but still they rushed these patches to us. I don't care if I have to play with a broken UI for a month or so, I'd just like Blizz to do a through job with their patches before applying one broken one after the other.

And, as far as BC goes I'll end up just waiting a few days after it comes out so I can avoid getting caught in the rush. Would it help Blizz to add a qeueing system when new patches come out and 8 million people try to log in at the same time?

Well, it should get fixed soon. I could log right into Alleria. 10 members on. Checked mail etc with no problems.
